Terms of Service

By accessing or using Hatch ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Hatch is an AI-assisted job search tool. It helps you tailor résumés to job descriptions, track your application pipeline, and prepare for interviews. Your résumé text and job descriptions remain in your browser — they are not stored on Hatch's servers. AI inference necessarily transits Hatch's backend to reach the model (Claude, by Anthropic); that content is not retained after the response is returned.

The free tier allows one job, lifetime, and up to 10 expensive AI actions (tailoring, analysis, research, interview prep). These limits are non-transferable. Deleting a job from your pipeline does not reset the counter. The free tier is permanent — there is no trial period.

You agree not to:

• Automate or script requests to Hatch's AI routes.
• Share your account with other users.
• Use Hatch to generate fabricated credentials, false employment history, or misrepresentation of any kind.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, circumvent, or abuse the quota or rate-limiting systems.
• Use the Service in any manner that violates applicable laws or regulations.

Hatch is designed to surface and articulate your real experience — never to invent it. The AI tailoring output reflects what you have actually done. You are responsible for ensuring that any résumé or application material produced with Hatch accurately represents your background and qualifications.

Using Hatch to misrepresent your experience to employers is a violation of these Terms and may expose you to consequences beyond Hatch's control.

Paid tiers (Paid and Power) are available by monthly or annual subscription via Stripe. Subscriptions are governed by Stripe's terms of service in addition to these Terms. For cancellation and refund terms, see our Refund Policy.

Hatch may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, your server-side data is removed as described in the Privacy Policy.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, HATCH AND ITS OPERATORS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. IN NO EVENT WILL HATCH'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO HATCH IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $50 IF YOU HAVE NOT MADE ANY PAYMENTS.

Hatch may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email to the address associated with your account. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance.
